All 3 flavors are freshly harvested upon pre-order and are meant to be consumed upon receipt and/or upon opening within 7 days. Biltong can be enjoyed in various ways, whether as a convenient snack on its own, added to salads, pasta, or pizza for an extra burst of flavor, or eaten before or after a gym workout to refuel. It's also perfect for outdoor activities like camping, fishing, cycling, or simply road trips and pairs excellently with both non-alcoholic/alcoholic beverages during gatherings or served as part of a charcuterie board for a flavorful appetizer.
For extended freshness, refrigerate after opening to avoid moisture due to humidity that leads to molds. As this snack is healthy and does not contain artificial preservatives, it can easily get spoiled so if you are not planning to consume it within a week or so, it is recommended to store the meat in the freezer.
Frozen: To pre-heat frozen beef and pork biltong, remove it from the freezer and let it thaw at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Once thawed, you can gently warm it in a microwave for 10-15 seconds for a quick pre-heating or through a cooking pan (refer to below).
Room Temperature: Heat a pan over medium-high heat, adding a small amount of oil, and then place the biltong slices in the pan. Cook for approximately 1-2 minutes on each side until they're lightly browned and warmed through, taking care not to overcook to maintain tenderness.
